* ÁTOPOS / / is a neologism that defines a ‘ non-place ‘,Consisting of a negation prefix A- and – topos, τόπος Greek, ‘place’.

ÁTOPOS theoretical approach deals with space transformation in relation to the individual and his perception interacting with it.

The installation is an invitation to the contemplation in pursuit of / searching for our ‘non-place ‘, called ATOPOS*, trying to overcome our sensitive limitations and know what exists beyond the visible bounds.

In the current context the individual stays immersed in a deep search for identity cause he lose all references; that’s what plunge himself into a perpetual vacuum crisis; so he needs to return to the primordial essence.

The alienation and hopelessness that modern man suffers, which is the result of consumes saturation and Western Tradition who «triggered the beings oblivion / casts the being into oblivion and refused intimate/private space» (Heidegger), will cling him to earth denying him the possibility of knowing its purest essence.

In this situation, the individual needs to escape the controlled space and materials psychosis; Átopos temporarily release him from the real world, leading him to directly experience the original source of being.

Installation generates a kaleidoscopic space in constant and unpredictable transformation and evolution. Chaos and random/chance, calm and movement, light and shadow are the configuration parameters of the project. Fragmented material/Intangible forms, abstraction, light and interactive technology are the elements that compose ÁTOPOS whose objective is to establish an intimate communication between viewer and work, through which we investigate the relationship between the individual/man, space and what he experiences in it.

Visitor must flow between the suspended volumes which surround him, conforming a polyhedral shapes spiral, between reality and imagination/fiction… through his/the body, he interacts with distance, light, de-structured matter and shadow multiplication… this is what Brancusi defines a «coincidentia oppositorum» because «matter/essence and fly», gravity and its negation are the same thing.

The result of each experience is unique and it’s an invitation to contemplation and play, to listen to the space, light and movement, to take us into ourselves, in whose center we can find the true human essence.
